I travel all over Devon repairing software problems and the towns and cities I cover include:

The great thing about me is I don't sell PC parts or software so I can tell you all the things that the small shops to large corporations don't want you to hear like free virus checkers that are better than the big brands, free word processors that will even open and save MS Word files, software to prevent almost all spyware infecting your machine and so on. You can almost always get better software for free than you can paying for because the free ones are written by people who care and want to help the internet community. You can more than cover the cost of my visit just by listening to what I advise you have on your machine instead of forking out for subscriptions and new software!

The problem with shops are they only really deal with hardware problems like a hard drive going. It is not cost-effective for them to learn how to deal with software problems because for them it is easier just to re-install Windows.

That's fine if you have no programmes installed, no files you need saving, no emails you need saving, no hardware which needs re-installing (This list could go on forever). Simply put unless you've only had your computer an hour you have a lot of information you want saved. This is where I come in. I have spent years fixing software problems without the need to re-install windows. My clients can't afford to spend hours installing everything again or they are so new to computers they don't know how.
